"Conversation Piece" est une chanson écrite par David Bowie en 1969. Elle est sortie en face B du single " The prettiest star "de 1970.

La chanson est un récit à la première personne d'un vieil érudit qui est presque complètement seul dans le monde, et semble attendre la mort.

 La chanson est apparue également en bonus de l'album Space Odity (réédition de 1990) et sur le deuxième disque bonus de la réédition pour le 40 ème anniversaire de ce même disque.

 En 2000, Bowie a enregistré une nouvelle version de la chanson pour l'album inédit  "Toy" . Cette version a été publiée sur le disque bonus de l'édition limitée de"Heathen" en 2002. L'atmosphère du ré-enregistrement est assez proche de l'original de 1970, mais la production est beaucoup plus riche.
